IT IS A TERRIBLE THING WHEN PEOPLE LOSE HEART.

None had a harder job to keep the spirits of the British People up, than Winston Churchill and his government, during those 6 long years between 1939 and 1945.

And all the time, day after day, came news that fathers, brothers, sons and husbands, would never come back devastating family after family with the awful and dreaded news.

They died at Dunkirk, the result of fools who had not heeded the looming storm clouds over Europe as Herr Hitler, determined to enslave the whole of Europe, built up his War Machine, culminating in the final attack on Poland.

They died in 1942 in aircraft, shot down over our own land, as “the few” fought valiantly to protect the women and children and old people of the cities, now the target of the German War Machine.

They died in merchant ships as they fought the mighty seas and the German U-boats as they manned the convoys of essential food and fuel coming across the North Sea and the Atlantic to keep Britain fighting and surviving.

They died in the deserts, they died in labour camps in the jungles of Burma – Millions and millions of them and still the folk at home fought on in the only way they could

But that was a different War.

It was cruel and harsh and vicious – but it was different to the War that is reaching its climax as we speak, which so many believe will culminate in the complete surrender of every country in Europe, and eventually, many well beyond Europe.

It is easy now, to see the glint in the eyes of its perpetrators as they see Victory in sight.

Victory – without a shot fired.

Hard to believe it really is happening – but it is.

It is indeed, easy to become disheartened and to curl up in the metaphysical foetal ball and pretend it just isn’t happening – and anyway – even if it does – it won’t be that bad – not this time.

Will it not?

I think it will be worse.

So – let us not be disheartened, but get up off our couches, desert our television screens with its hourly propaganda – and get out there and fight – in the only way WE can fight – until the fight is Won – until the Battle is Won – until the War is finally over, this time, once and for all – God Willing.

In the South West, CORNWALL is determined to be up in the front of the battle lines, banners waving, trumpets blowing, pipes skirling – girding up for the General Election – probably in 2009.

I believe we can win it Chaps – so must you.

All six of our PPCs are ready and waiting.

All six Constituency Committees are building that essential head of steam, to drive us right into the House of Commons in 2009.

Come and help us.

Donate as much as you can. Phone your Branch Treasurer and arrange to make that monthly payment you always meant to make and never got around to doing. Make no mistake – every £ will make all the difference.

Phone your nearest UKIP contact and find out what you can do – there are going to be lots of jobs to do, from fund raising to pavement pounding to attending fundraising events.
All the contacts are on this website – no excuses please.

There is a new UKIP CORNWALL office, in Lemon Street, Truro which will need to be set up and manned. Phone the County Chairman and see how you can help.

Come on – get out those “Dad’s Army” broomsticks again, shoulder arms and march forward for your Country once again.
