Liberty, Democracy, Independence!

Today is the last day of December 2007.

Our unelected Prime Minister, Gordon Brown has been to Lisbon, albeit, late, and signed the EU Constitutional treaty, in the face of enormous and growing protests from the British People from all political spectrums and from all walks of life, that the government should not sign until a National Referendum has been held on the subject.

It is said that this cannot, however, become final, until the British Parliament has debated and ratified it, and this will not happen for another 12 months.

Pressure will inevitably, grow and the pressure within the now “coming to the boil” pot will soon become explosive, if the Referendum is not held.

ALL parties, who do not agree with “Ratification without Referendum”, must come forward and totally condemn the policy of NuLabour and the LibDems to force EU Rule upon Britain without our permission.

This year, on Boxing Day, the streets of my local town, were packed with more riders than I have ever seen, and the people thronging the pavements, cheered them to the rafters.

They all said: ”It’s a matter of our Freedom!”

On first sight, it seems that nothing has changed in those 2 years – and yet there, in my local town, on Boxing Day 2007, we glimpsed th clear evidence that a great deal has changed.

The support for FREEDOM, INDEPENDENCE and DEMOCRACY is greater than it has ever been.

We just have to transfer that into VOTES.

Original Letter:

Dear Editor,

I write in reply to C Crook of Plymouth (14 March 05) and F Cleaves of Par ( 22 February 05), both of whose recent letters on the subject of the Hunt Ban, have been given, by their publication, the Right of Free Speech, by the Western Morning News – which I applaud.

However, neither of these people, seems to be able to understand that the United Kingdom is a Democratic Monarchy with a parliamentary system of government.

This means that the agreement of both Houses of Parliament, the Commons and the Lords, must be obtained before any Law going through that system can, in reality, be acceptable to most people, and therefore worth the paper they are written on.

Where absolute agreement cannot be arrived at, as in this case, then it is the duty of both Houses to reach a compromise – and it is this which is missing from the “Anti-Hunting Act” of which these people write, making it untenable.

It is pointless to churn out law after law, unless those to whom those laws are to be addressed, will, in the main, agree to keep them. We can moralise on that fact as much as we like, but the fact remains that laws are useless without the co-operation of the populace to whom they apply.

Letters like these, do no more than incite yet more unnecessary frustration and anger, not just from those who hunt, but from people like me, who do not hunt, but who do love and value the Freedoms, so hard-won, which are our Birthright.

Our Society is in grave danger and has been increasingly so, for the last seven or eight years, as “pressure” groups for this and “pressure groups” for that, have gained more and more of the upper hand, so that we have now arrived at a position where they, the minorities, are ruling 70 million people with their impositions and exhortations.”

It is outrageous, that as a result, the Police Force all over the Country are becoming overwhelmed to a very dangerous degree as they are increasingly out-numbered by erstwhile law-abiding people, now daily criminalised for every small misdemeanour, and demanding their attention.

The “White Party” is a title currently being coined by the National Press, to describe the disaffected, frustrated and silently angry majority of millions of good British citizens, who have given up voting because they feel no one is tackling these unwanted intrusions into both our democracy and our daily lives, and which are overturning good government, and bringing misery to millions.

Our Society is at Breaking Point and it is time for us all, including the silent majority to protest in speech, writing and at the ballot box and to consign these bullies to the back seats for a change.
