Derek Elliot UKIP PPC

The United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) recently held its Prospective Parliamentary Candidate selection for the Camborne and Redruth constituency.

Derek Elliot UKIP PPC The committee are pleased to announce that Derek Elliott, General Manager of a confectionery manufacturing company, from Angarrack near Hayle will aspire to raise the awareness of UKIP which is now already the 4th largest Political Party.

Derek was brought up in London on a council estate but has lived in the West Country for over 30 years. Married to Jane for 30 years this December his interests include playing bowls, where he has represented Cornwall, football, rugby, gardening and village chats in the local pub.

Derek was previously the Managing Director of a large multinational company, on the Board of two European companies, and I was the Chairman of a small company in Goonhavern.

The experiences gained with International trade especially with France and Germany is one of the fundamental reasons Derek believes that the UK will only continue to suffocate if it stays in the EU.

It is also because of Derek’s concern for the future of his 4 children and 3 grandchildren that he joined UKIP for the opportunity to help save our country from the stranglehold of the EU which is now costing every man, woman, and child in the UK £1000 per year.

Derek says that it is because the ‘other’ political parties do not inform the public of the real facts such as: This year the UK will pay into the EU around £60 billion. To put this into perspective just £1 billion will pay for:

  1. 220,000 hip replacements.
  2. 47,000 nurses.
  3. 40,000 teachers.
  4. 35,000 police officers.

However, the reality is that much of that money is wasted or lost in fraud. For the last 13 years the Independent Court of Auditors has REFUSED to ratify the EU’s accounts. If the EU were a private company, the board of directors would be behind bars and the business wound up.

Do you want to be paying more and more tax to subsidise a parliament that has a President with 27 Commissioners, 785 MEP’s a European Council, a Council of Ministers, and 25,000 European Civil Servants?

Do you know that Your Governments’ are not only giving your freedom and rights away, they are continuously negotiating deals for us to pay the EU more and more each year. The latest round of negotiating will see us pay in an extra £2.8 billion per year between 2007 and 2013.

Are you aware that the EU Budget still operates in an unfair and traditional way, with little link between spending and need. Britain will receive 770 euros per person in EU spending – the Lowest of any member state. France will receive 1,480, euros per person, Ireland 3,090 and Luxembourg 22,000 euros per person. In the next 6 years France will receive 896 billion euros and the UK 465 billion. People in the UK will pay 20% more per head than in France.

Do you want this to stop? I do. If you want to join the one Party which will get us out of this mess then please help our future by joining the United Kingdom Independence Party.
