Visit of Party Leader Nigel Farage to West Cornwall
The visit of Nigel Farage MEP, Leader of the UK Independence Party, to West Cornwall recently, held at The Lugger Inn, Penzance, was greeted with enthusiasm by a packed hall at when Mr Farage spoke about the Party’s most recently launched policy on the British Fishing Industry.
He spoke of the closures of post offices, farmers and small businesses being brought down by EU over-regulation, unaffordable housing, poorly paid seasonal jobs and all the topics, which are affecting people locally.
The meeting was chaired by Mr Malcolm Woods (UKIP South West) who on asking for a show of hands, ascertained that half the audience were already members of the UK Independence Party, but half were not and had come to hear what The Leader UKIP had to say.
The Panel Question time, which followed resulted in a number of applications for membership of the Party.
Also speaking were Mr Mick Faulkner, Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for St Ives and the Isles of Scilly, Mr Glen Corcoran, Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Truro and Falmouth, and Mr John Moran, Chairman of UKIP Kingston on Thames, all of whom, with Mr Farage, formed the Panel for Question Time.
