I am standing as a UKIP candidate in the Falmouth Truro General Elections as I believe passionately in the democratic process that our families fought for and which put the Great into Great Britain. When the Common Market was proposed, it was ‘sold’ to us as a ‘free trade’ market environment and most welcomed it; now it has morphed into an uncontrollable, non accountable monster that is sucking the life blood from us, controlling virtually every aspect of our lives and has the declared intent of reducing Britain into a heritage museum with no meaningful farming or industry to generate jobs. They even declare an intention of controlling our financial services! It is time to take our country back into our own control; Yes, we should trade with our European neighbours but not live under the thumb of an unwanted EU 'Superstate' we didn't get the chance to vote for. How can I do that? If You elect me, I promise I will be like a piece of grit in the shoes of the cabinet, a constant irritation that has to be taken notice of, till your demands are dealt with. Who knows if UKIP can take a dozen seats or more, in a close result, we could hold the ruling powers to their promises! ALL the other parties M.Ps have to ignore your demands as their whips tell them what to vote for! And if we stay under EU control, all decisions will be made in Brussels anyway. I am Harry Blakeley, I am a qualified mechanical engineer, have
been married since 1964, and have three grown up sons. I have worked for international and local companies, have owned and successfully run four businesses of my own, the last being in Cornwall where Brenda and I have lived since 1997. I also fitted in fifteen years service with the Royal Marines Reserve. In 2003, being absolutely disillusioned by our Town Councils lack of public consultation, I founded the Hayle Residents Association. Amongst other things, I organised a referendum over a controversial planning application, completely changing the planner’s minds; I also instigated the hugely successful Hospital March in Hayle. I love democracy and am determined to put the electorates needs FIRST! I firmly support local homes for local people BUT Do we really need 70,000 new homes in Cornwall? With a 30% increased pressure on our resources! Where are the jobs to support these extra people I suspect these new homes are for the massive influx of EU immigrants we are scheduled to receive!! Please do not forget the Revelations regarding MPs expenses, it still horrifies us all!! MPs are paid from YOUR taxes; then they claimed obscene expenses to which you are not entitled. All this to avoid paying their normal dues! I solemnly promise that If you elect me, I will not abuse your trust, I will act on your behalf for the general benefit of all the residents of the Falmouth / Truro constituency. The more UKIP MPs in Westminster the more pressure we bring to bear on our proven inept, EU controlled government. Harry Blakeley |
